Tatjana was born in Berlin, Germany. She has a degree in Education and has been living in Mexico since 2003. She previously worked as a volunteer coordinator at the Animal Care Centre in Guadalajara, and as a German teacher at different language schools. She joined the volunteer advisor team in May 2016. In her free time she likes to go to concerts or festivals, exercising, and enjoying nature.
Elvira joined the Projects Abroad team in January 2010. She is originally from Lima, but has been living in Puerto Maldonado for many years now. She knows Taricaya and the local town very well and is happy to assist volunteers on their trips into town. Elvira will be in touch with all Peru Conservation Project volunteers before they arrive and she also meets the volunteers at the Puerto Maldonado airport.
Christian was born and raised in Belgium and studied Marketing Management in Brussels. He started working for Projects Abroad in April 2015 as a Volunteer Advisor. During his free time he enjoys playing rugby and spending time with friends.
Jurine was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa; in 2004, she studied tourism management and human resource development at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She joined the Projects Abroad team in February 2016. Her tips for new volunteers: always keep an open mind as it takes great courage to step out of one’s comfort zone. In her spare time, she enjoys winetasting, watching movies and series, and keeping fit with her daily workouts.
Thami was born in Worcester but has lived in Cape Town for most of her life. She has a degree in tourism management and previously spent time volunteering with disabled children at a home before joining Projects Abroad in February 2016. She loves to explore new places and was grateful that her first trip overseas was the Philippines, one of the world’s most welcoming countries. When travelling, she recommends that everyone go with an open mind and a willingness to embrace their new environment. In her free time, Thami enjoys reading motivational books or novels, watching movies and listening to music.
Gabriela was born in Guadalajara, she has a degree in Foreign Languages. She has worked as an English teacher and translator for several years and she joined the Projects Abroad team in 2016. She loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, going to concerts and cultural events. Gabriela has had the opportunity to travel through South America and Western Europe.
Clem was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. With a creative and musical background and having previously worked in the film industry, he craved something more and stumbled upon Projects Abroad. Since then has been the Volunteer Advisor for Cambodia. He enjoys performing music live and growing his life in all areas.
Born in South Africa and raised in Cyprus, Christos obtained his degree in International Relations from the University of Essex. In late 2013, he moved to South Africa and joined Projects Abroad in May 2014 as the Volunteer Advisor for China, Moldova and Sri Lanka. He has travelled through most of Europe and certain parts of Africa and Asia. He enjoys football, writing and has been involved in volunteering for over four years.
Stacey grew up and currently lives in Cape Town. She is a very creative person who is always finding new projects to amuse herself with in her spare time, from ceramic sculpture and baking to trawling second hand stores looking for old vinyl records to add to her ever growing collection! From a young age, Stacey has always yearned to work with a purpose and make a change and feels that with Projects Abroad this can be achieved. Stacey is the Volunteer Advisor for Ghana and Tanzania.
Born and raised in a small town of central Italy, Mirko studied HR training and development at the University of Rome. He travelled extensively and lived in the US, Mexico, Holland, Cyprus and South Africa. He joined Projects Abroad in March 2014 as Volunteer Advisor for Nepal and all Italian volunteers. Besides travelling, Mirko enjoys sport, nature and outdoor activities, photography and writing. His personal life motto is "dreams are made to be realised".
Christelle joined Projects Abroad as a Volunteer Advisor in September 2013. Previously, she enjoyed teaching French to children and worked for many years as a Personal Assistant. She studied English Literature and Languages at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Christelle is from France but has also lived in England and in the United States. In her free time, she likes spending time with her family, painting, dancing and hiking.
Jessica joined Projects Abroad in September 2015 as a volunteer advisor for Ecuador, Mexico and Nepal. She was born in Xalapa, Mexico and now lives in Guadalajara. She studied psychology. In her free time she enjoys travelling and hopes to one day travel all around the world, meeting new people and experiencing other cultures.
Claudia joined Projects Abroad in October 2013. She was born and raised in Cape Town, where she graduated at Cape Peninsula University of Technology with a National Diploma in Tourism Management. She is passionate about working with and meeting different people from different cultures. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, travelling domestically and exploring new places.
