You will work outdoors, surrounded by stunning landscapes, and help with our archaeological activities in the area.

Your trip will begin in Cuzco with an introduction to the grandeur of the Inca Empire and the fascinating lifestyle and traditions which are continued by the locals. You will then be taken to the Pikillaqta National Park, and work alongside our local archaeological team, helping them explore the area for "new" sites; mapping, excavating, cleaning and maintaining current sites; and classifying artefacts.

You will be taken to see many of the archaeological wonders of Peru including Ollantaytambo where the Inca fought their last battle with the Conquistadores and the magnificent Machu Picchu, a unique place and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You will be able to visit the ruins and see the markets of traditional Peruvian towns. Volunteers will stay with a host family for the duration of their placement.
