A-level Results Day
It’s arguably one of the most anticipated and nerve-wracking days in one’s student career: A-level Results Day, which takes place in mid-August each year. For those of you who do well or better than expected, congratulations!
However, if you don’t do as well as you were hoping for, Projects Abroad can help you organise a gap year while you decide on your future career path. We have over 20 years’ experience assisting students, and will be able to match you to a placement that suits your interests and requirements.
Even if you do achieve the results needed for your course, you might still want to defer and take a break before heading off to university. After all, it’s been a long 13 years of studying!
What to do after A-level Results Day
It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get the results you wanted! You have the option to reapply, select an offer through clearing, or even take a year off while you reassess your options. For those who choose to defer, a gap year can leave you refreshed and ready to tackle the next stage of your educational career.
Regardless of your reason for opting for a gap year, there are a whole host of opportunities you can choose from to make the most of a year out.
How can a gap year improve my options?
Taking a gap year can really help to boost your future university applications or employability, provided you make it a purposeful time of learning and exploring.
- Work experience in the field you wish to study, such as Medicine, Journalism or Law is an excellent addition to your CV or UCAS application.
- Volunteering is a worthwhile way to spend your time, and is another boost for potential universities or employers.
- Gap years can help you develop important soft skills, such as teamwork and communication.
